SUMILAY is a nature-friendly activated carbon made from carbonized grind coffee beans.

ADSORPTION

Located in the countless pores of activated carbon.

The large number of pores allows it to absorb even the thinnest oil film.
In addition, once the oil has been adsorbed, it will not be released even if it is lifted from the water surface.

General oil mats are not good at absorbing thin oil films (some research reports say that they are unable to absorb thin oil films when the thickness is less than 0.25 mm).
SUMILAY Oil Mat can adsorb 0.001mm thickness of oil film.(Rainbow colored is 0.001mm thickness.)

BUOYANCY

SUMILAY are buoyant and can remain floating on the water surface for up to three months.
SUMILAY only absorbs oil and does not absorb water, so it will not sink even if it absorbs oil.

Products

SUMILAY Oil Mat

There are two types of Smilay oil mats, with different surface fabrics.
They have different features and are recommended to be used for different purposes.

Type B

Outer fabric: cotton

• Stronger adsorb power than Type W
• Easy to decompose naturally even if left unattended.

* In summer, it may spoil after 3-4 days.

Type W

Outer fabric: polyester

• Longer period of buoyancy
• SUMILAY is hard to leak.

SUMILAY Oil Boom

SUMILAY Oil Boom is wrapped in polyester fabric.
It works well in shallow streams and narrow channels.
It is also lightweight and can be easily set up by a small number of people.

This oil boom is 7.5 to 15 cm in diameter and buoyant, so it blocks oil even in shallow, narrow channels.
Also, unlike rubber oil mats, oil can be adsorbed and collected.
